This week's episode started with a recap of the tag title unification match, and I tuned into the end of Smackdown for it and I loved it. Great match, the finish protected the losers and the beatdown post-match made children cry.
This week's actual show started with Riddle and the Street Profits vs Sami Zayn and the Undisputed Tag Team Champions the Uso’s. The Uso’s are a top 10 tag team all time by this point, right? Before the match Riddle cut a promo announcing Randy is injured, I think. Riddle cut a fantastic promo on the Bloodline. Riddle proved he is a good promo despite what many think. For the match itself, I think it goes without saying that this match was awesome. I really like all these guys. But I miss Sami Zayn’s old theme. I hate this generic rock garbage. I like how theme songs in AEW are actually theme songs and most of the time I can tell whose song it is. This slight character change for Riddle is going to do wonders for him. Adding that serious side to riddle is going to make his doubters see him as more than a comedy mid carder which he is.
Winners: Team Evolve (Riddle, Street Profits)
Next was a Bobby Lashley promo. A year ago, if you had told me that I would've laughed in your face. But FOR BOBBY LASHLEY it was a fine promo. I think if MVP just did backstage promos, he would be consistently solid. MVP is awesome though. Like you can make a claim that he has been the best manager in wrestling since coming back to WWE. Nope this was ruined Bobby Lashley wanted a match to pick a stipulation for another match. Bobby Lashley also said something dirty, and it made everyone laugh, Like Bobby Lashley's problem with promos is mostly his word choice. He just says stuff weird sometimes. Nevermind this was good. The match ended up being MVP vs Lashley which sounds fun. This was the definition of a mid-segment. It wasn’t good but it wasn’t bad.
Next was spooky Edge and his stepchildren. I just realized Michael Cole isn't on RAW anymore. Wow. When did he leave RAW? Priest has really found his role with this new gimmick. I didn't like him before but I’m vibing with him for the first time like ever. I wish Rhea didn’t cut promos. I really like her until she talks. Not because she's a woman because she isn't very good at promos. Phew! Almost went and cancelled myself. The way Rhea talks is just wrong? I guess. It just isn't how people talk. Edge is the man and really brought this promo home.
After the break was a mixed tag between AJ and Liv vs Rhea and Priest. I'm not going to lie to my people. I missed this match while I was poopin but I saw Judgement Day beat em up after the match.
Winners: You tell me (finger guns)
Next was a Miz promo backstage.
After that Jerry Lawler cut a promo and introduced Veer Mahaan. He tried to interview him, but Veer was having none of Jerry's shizzle. Damnit, he started talking and he ruined it. Well, that’s a little dramatic. Veer is still cool; he is still learning English, but it isn't bad. Mysterio uno and dos interrupted and got “riggity riggity rekt son”- Rick Sanchez. The Mysterio’s got the upper hand at the end and Veer gave them a stern talking to from the apron and that was all she wrote. This segment was fine but no one necessarily benefited from it but it didn’t hurt anyone either.
Next was an Alexa Bliss promo before her match with Nikki A.S.H. Alexa is great and I’m so happy to see her back. This match was fine. Alexa got the win with Twisted Bliss. I love her new song by the way.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
Next was a backstage promo with Seth Rollins. This man has my dream closet. He cut a good promo on Cody before his match with the Miz.
After commercial was Miz vs Cody Rhodes. But before that was an Asuka promo. I love Asuka but I hate the presentation they have of her. Miz is so underrated =. People who say he is a bad wrestler haven't stepped foot inside of a ring. Miz is one of the best heels of the decade without a shadow of a doubt. Everyone knows or should know how good Cody is by now. This match was great until the end. Rollins and Miz “set him up” I was enjoying this match so I’m not happy with the finish but the fans really got behind him so it was fine.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Next was Ezekiel vs Chad Gable with Kevin Owens at ringside. Gable is awesome man. Chad Gable is the best. Ezekiel is a much better wrestler than Elias by the way. This match was really entertaining. I don’t mind the roll up pin to finish this match. Because I think it serves the story. After the Match Owens challenged Ezekiel to a match at Hell in a Cell.
Next was a backstage promo with Cody Rhodes. This promo made me ok with the finish earlier.
Next was Omos vs MVP. The stipulation for Omos vs Lashley 2 is on the line. This match was kinda stupid man. It was some kind of no finish I’m not completely sure like either count out or DQ but it was stupid. This made Lashley look like an idiot. He got some redemption when he put MVP in the Hurt Lock after. I like the idea of MVP picking the stipulation but I would’ve done it different.
Next was a rematch between Becky and Asuka and if Becky wins she is added to the womens title match . Which makes the #1 contender stipulation meaningless because there was no real storyline reason to have this match other than they didn’t have anything else. The match was good. Of course the match was good but the fact that this match is happening on tv twice in two weeks is actually crazy to me and a great example of how bad wwe is at booking the womens division. Look at Raw and Smackdowns womens rosters side by side. The fact that they did this is honestly lazy. Of course Becky won WWE will prolapse if Becky or Charlotte isn’t in the championship picture at any point in time. This match if saved could’ve been huge it has such a. Unique story to back it to. I’m mentally exhausted after this weeks raw and that’s not how I should feel
Winner: Becky Lynch
Raw had a few bright spots but for the most part was a drag to watch. Boring action and multiple rematches, this was the worst episode of raw by far since I’ve started doing these reviews. This weeks RAW gets 🖕🏽🖕🏽
